Richard McBride Jr.


Mr. McBride, a native Washingtonian, began his real estate career in 1975 when he assisted his mother in the formation of her residential real estate company, Cecile B. McBride & Company, Inc. Throughout High School, Mr. McBride worked after school assisting in residential sales, rentals, marketing and management with McBride & Company. After graduating from Walt Whitman HS in 1978, he received his salesman's license.

While attending Georgetown University, he was hired by the aviation consulting firm of Beauvais, Roberts and Kurth to assist in statistical analysis and research. During his three years with Beauvais, Roberts and Kurth, he was trained in preparing statistical spread sheet models on behalf of commercial carriers and airport clientele. This analytical background has proven to be invaluable in preparing custom-made computer spread sheet analyses on behalf of his tenant clientele. It also gave him experience in adapting new technologies to better serve his clients.

In 1982, Mr. McBride received a Bachelor’s in Economics from the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University. In 1983, Mr. McBride joined the Washington, D.C. office of Barnes, Morris & Pardoe, Inc. (now CB/Richard Ellis). He was named the company’s “Rookie of the Year” and received numerous awards from the Washington, DC Board of Realtors for the transactions he consummated on behalf of his clients. Among other acknowledgements, he was initiated as a "life member" of the Washington Board of Realtors "Million Dollar Club"

Throughout his career Mr. McBride has endeavored to raise the level of services provided to his clients. With the creation of the Windows Operating System for personal computers and local area networks, he realized that information technology (IT) had become an increasingly large factor in the way his clients’ worked and the way they used real estate. In order to assist his clients in synchronizing their office space and IT, Mr. McBride formed an IT services company, Systems Engineering Solutions, Inc. (SES) in 1997. SES assisted a number of Mr. McBride’s real estate clients, including Host Marriott Services, Inc. in the creation of a digital repository to save, store and retrieve critical contracts.

In 2001, Mr. McBride joined the Philadelphia, PA based investment company, Preferred Real Estate Investment, to head its Washington, DC office.

In 2002, Mr. McBride launched McBride Real Estate Services, Inc. Mr. McBride specializes in tenant representation and consultation services and has been responsible for lease negotiations on behalf of many leading law firms, associations, financial institutions and corporations in Washington, D.C. and nationally.

Mr. McBride’s community service work has included St. Patrick’s Church and St. Columba’s Church. He recently served as the President of The University Club of Washington, DC, a 104 year old city club, with approximately 2,500 members and an annual budget exceeding $11 Million.
